Pasadena Community Network is a non-profit organization governed by Pasadena Community Access Corporation (a municipal operating company) in Pasadena, CA, which oversees four television stations: The Arroyo Channel, KPAS, KLRN and PCCtv and the PCN Community Media Studios in Pasadena, California, since 1983.
PCN is a highly respected multi-media community center that inspires dialogue, fosters free expression through public access, and connects the diverse communities we serve. The Arroyo Channel serves as a non-commercial community access channel and a community media center. We provide local individuals and/or groups use of telecommunications & digital technology to communicate information and ideas, while serving a wide community-based with diverse interests, ages and cultures. The Arroyo Channel is accessible 24 hours a day, to more than 100,000 cable subscribers through the Charter system in the City of Pasadena and parts of the San Gabriel Valley. Also, reaches to millions nationally and internationally via the Internet. PCN Media Studios provides the community with access to a fully Digital and Industry Standard Production facility, including on-location video production equipment, 2 full body green / blue screen studios, multiple studio camera set-up, a fully functional mobile studio, hands-on training and post production editing suites. PCN Production Company serves the community by producing local government programming, original community programming, and operates the media training center. Introduction to Community TV Production is a hands-on training course in the basic overview of technical studio production, theory and community access guidelines. This course is designed to provide students with real world television experience. Upon successful completion of this course, 20 hrs of volunteer service and paid yearly PCN membership fee, the participant will be qualified as a Community Producer, which enables them to produce the program of their choice. Community Volunteerism plays an integral part in this community media center, whether operating a camera, writing scripts, producing your own show or assisting other community members. Your volunteer service depends on your interests and availability.
